1972 Ford Gran Torino With A 521 Big-Block
This 1972 Ford Gran Torino has been rebuilt as a period-era hot rod. Essentially the owner looked at how it would have been upgraded in the in the 70′s. This was a frame-off restoration. Meaning this baby is better than it rolled off the factory floor.
The engine has been upgraded from a 351 to a Ford 385 series 460 cubic-inch big-block. Displacement was increased to 521 cubic-inches (8.4L). These engines are beasts and known for their power. It was the basis for the amazing Boss 429. Unfortunately they were the last breed of big-blocks for Ford.
The engine includes Eagle forged crank and rods, Wisco custom forged pistons, aluminum Super Cobra Jet heads with Kasse mods, solid flat tappet Lunati cam, Lunati solid lifters, Pro Systems billet carb, and many other upgrades.
