Auction Alert: Meticulously-restored 1971 Ford Maverick Grabber bids will conclude today

Published in blog.hemmings.com

This Maverick has beaten the odds and is in nearly factory-stock condition after a lengthy and high-quality restoration. Powered by a 302 that is rebuilt, this Grabber Green Maverick Grabber is controlled by Ford’s C4 automatic transmission. Performance sound and feel is now complemented by dual exhausts. The exterior restoration took the compact down to the unitized body and frame, and then back up to its full repaint in 2005, which was touched up this year; the striping is correct. Inside, simplicity was key with minimal gauges and cabin comforts, but all gauges on this Grabber work fine with minimal wear on the clean seats, dash and carpet. The car drives as it should with some slight play in the steering that is typical of cars of the era. You’ll have a very hard time finding another example of an early small-bumper Grabber Maverick restored to this level. Bidding will end today at around 3:30 pm.
