Daily Briefing: Automobile oddities to be discussed at the National Automobile Museum; Beach race at Normandy

The directors at the National Automobile Museum announced the topic of their Second Thursday talk to take place later this month. John Sell, a retired tech executive and docent at the museum will lead a lighthearted discussion about unusual automobiles and accessories entitled Automobile Oddities. The talk will include a Q&A session, refreshments and some unique pieces of automotive history.

The half hour talk is part of an ongoing monthly series of car discussions held at the museum every second Thursday. Automobile Oddities will be held Thursday, September 12 at 1:30PM. The National Automobile Museum is located in Reno, Nevada. For tickets and more information, visit

The premier edition of the Normandy Beach Race will take place later this month in France. The event is open to all pre-1947 cars and bikes. A quick look at some of the entrants include several Ford Model As, Ts, and V-8s, Harley-Davidson Knuckleheads and WLAs, a 1935 Riley TT Sprite, a 1947 BSA M21, and many Peugeot bikes.
