Daily Briefing: Celebrity vehicles at Kruse GWS Auctions; 2019 SEMA Scholarship and loan forgiveness awards announced

The staff at Kruse GWS Auctions announces a collection of “Artifacts of Hollywood & Music” auction to take place at the end of this month.

Among the highlights to be auctioned are personal vehicles of Elvis Presley, including his 1973 Lincoln Continental limousine, the Elvis roadster hot rod from his starring role in the film Loving You, his Circle G Ranch GMC pickup and the last motorcycle he purchased, a 1976 Harley-Davidson Electra-Glide 1200.

Outside of Elvis’ vehicles, notable lots include Garth Brook’s tour bus, Hugh Hefner’s personal car, the George Barris “Geoffreymobile,” the Kitt 2008 Mustang and Tattoo’s Fantasy Island golf cart among many others.

The Board of Directors at SEMA have announced their Memorial Scholarship Fund has awarded $272,000 to 97 individuals this year. The scholarships went to current students and included loan-forgiveness awards to employees of SEMA-member companies.

The program was established in 1984 and has awarded over $2.5 million since its inception. SEMA Board of Directors Chairman Tim Martin said, “SEMA is committed to offering support to the next generation of young men and women that will drive this industry for years to come.”
