Rust-free 1991 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser for sale on Hemmings.com. From the seller’s description:
I purchased it in September 2017 in the Pacific Northwest and drove cross country to Michigan where it has been garaged ever since. My trip was trouble free. This car has zero rust (see floor photos from when I had carpet and seats out for cleaning). Before the trip the in-tank fuel pump was replaced, (adjacent floor area looked factory fresh) also tires, (space saver spare and jack have never been used) battery, serpentine belt, filters, hoses and coolant, 4l60 transmission fluid/filter. A service manual (no owners manual) plus new ignition, brake and other misc. items that I’d purchased but weren’t needed go with the car. Glass is excellent as is interior and exterior trim due to Pacific Northwest environment. Have done some cosmetic paint and ding repairs to correct 28 years of road rash and the result is a very presentable appearance.
Oldsmobile produced these in 1991 and for a short while in 1992 before giving the field to Buick and Chevrolet. Oddly enough it has often been observed that the short-lived Oldsmobile version was the best looking of the three. This one has lots of miles on what is essentially the bullet-proof GM 305 CID throttle body injection engine of that era (good parts availability) and which miles, I was told, were mostly due to highway trips back and forth from Washington to Arizona/Texas (average is between 8/ 9,000 per year on this 28 year old car).
Stainless exhaust system is in good condition and there are no check engine lights or performance problems. Power windows, seats , door locks, mirrors, antenna and automatic climate control all function as they should although the A/C may need additional refrigerant. Equipped with standard Positraction and trailering option, however, there’s no indication that a trailer hitch has ever been installed. The factory automatic level control is all on-board but not functioning. My plan was to use this car for retro type road trips, however, events have pushed that off the table and now it is time for this Custom Cruiser to have a new home.
