Hemmings Find of the Day – 1948 Cadillac 60S

Published in

Derham-bodied 1948 Cadillac 60S for sale on From the seller’s description:

This Cadillac was ordered by the sales managers of Brown and Bigelow as a Christmas present for Charles A. Ward, the president of the company, and was customized by the Derham Body Company. My family has owned the car since 1963 when it was purchased from Mr. Ward’s widow. It has about 75K miles and it was driven as a second car for several years and was in storage from 1993 until 2017 when it was cleaned up and brought back to its current running condition. It is basically original and complete including the fender skirts, hub caps, spare tire, and radio. The original flat head V8 runs and the car can be driven. The transmission does have some leaks but it does seem to operate properly. There are rust spots at the spare tire well and the left corner of the rear bumper but other than that there is only some surface rust. The paint is original but the orignal leather roof has been replaced with vinyl. It has the original seats but they are in rough condition. The carpet and headliner are original.
