Hemmings Find of the Day – 1955 Studebaker E12

Published in

Patina-rich 1955 Studebaker E12 3/4-ton pickup for sale on From the seller’s description:

I have had it for 4 years and I am the 4th owner.

It runs and can be driven, however the engine is not in the best condition because it is 62 years old. This is not the original V8 engine, but a 1956 289 V8. It is a 3-speed on the column and had an overdrive, but unfortunately it broke so the max speed is about 45-50 mph.

Rebuilt carburetor and generator with some new wires in the front. All lights work except the rear passenger blinker and the high beams.

Everything under the bed has been redone. I painted the frame and differential and coated the bottom of the bed with the flex seal rubber spray. There is also a new wiring harness in the back.

Custom rims and new radial tires. Rear brake shoes and brake cylinders have been done recently.

All new seals around glass and doors. New side door windows. Doors and windows work fine. Driver side is hard to close but it does. Only passengers side key lock from the outside.

New shocks all around.
