Pfaff Design’s rendering of the H and H Performance 1970 Bronco.

H&H Performance Inc. of DuBois, Pennsylvania, has long been known for Mustang restorations, but it also does Bronco buildups, and its latest project is an intriguing 1970 model. The company states that it will be the “first carbon-fiber-bodied Bronco ever built,” and will be infused with “high-end elegance, raw horsepower, and true four-wheel-drive capabilities.”

Though most of these attributes, except of course for the last one, aren’t normally associated with Ford’s trusty little four-wheeler, they have become so wildly popular that some builders and enthusiasts are expanding the creative palettes of their projects.

This Bronco was designed by Ryan Horchen (co-owner of H&H, with his wife Wendy) and Murray Pfaff of Pfaff Designs in Detroit. Ryan’s brother, Dustin, runs the shop, so he will head-up the build.

Ensuring that it lives up to the expectations implied by its aggressive styling, the powertrain will feature a 750-plus hp supercharged 2018 Ford Performance Coyote V-8 engine, six-speed automatic, Atlas transfer case, extreme-duty driveshafts, and the original differentials with 4.10 gears. Further modifications will include a full roll cage, two-inch body lift, 3.5-inch suspension lift, Bilstein dual-chambered shocks, Wilwood 12-inch four-wheel disc brakes with a Hydroboost system, carbon fiber wheels, and 33-inch tires.

Luxury trappings will consist of 2017 BMW seats, a reproduction 1967 Shelby G.T. 500 steering wheel, and HDX Dakota Digital gauges with tire pressure monitoring system set into a full custom dash and console that also includes a touchscreen sound system and navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, wireless phone charging dock, and Vintage Air A/C. The seats, side panels, and headliner will be upholstered in black European leather. An oversized tempered-glass roof panel and power steering, windows, door locks, and drop steps will also be installed.

The price for this one-of-a-kind upscale Bronco is expected to be about $250,000. For further information regarding H&H Performance Inc., visit HandHPerformance.com.
