Six-cylinder 1971 Chevrolet Nomad for sale on Hemmings.com. From the seller’s description:
A unique opportunity to own a very low mileage mostly original Chevelle Nomad Wagon. In storage for almost 20 years in Tacoma, WA this car will be perfect for a classic family cruiser or as the basis of a killer resto-mod. With no rust, original glass, trim, interior and drive train this is ready to go as-is or if for a project it will be low cost as the body and interior requires nothing. We purchased this as the third owner in 2010 in original condition and displayed it at national car shows as a “survivor”, winning many awards. In 2011 we had an old school body man take out the dings and dents and repainted it with PPG base and clear coat in the original color. What you see in the photos in mostly detailing, not restoration. As purchased it was model code 3136, trim code 702, paint code 24 / 24, axle code GG, radio code U63 (AM radio) antenna code U76 (windshield) and roof luggage carrier V55; nothing has been changed. As the base model it has the 250 cu. in. Turbo Thrift in-line six cylinder engine @ 145 hp, 3 speed Saginaw transmission w/column shift and a 3:36 rear axle ratio. You will not win many drag races but it averages 18 mpg @ freeway speeds. What has been changed from original was to assure safety and reliably. The cooling system has been re-cored and the hoses replaced. The brake system was rebuilt with new lines and seals. The carburetor is rebuilt and new radial tires were mounted on the original rims (the spare is original). We added: A/C but kept the period vibe with a under dash unit, a FM radio but the original AM radio is included, a tachometer because you MUST have one, kick panel speakers but I have the original panels and a little chrome just for fun but the original parts come with the car if you wish. Family circumstances forces a sale otherwise I would keep this forever, it is that nice.
