Hemmings Find of the Day – 1934 Ford “Panther”

Published in

We don’t want to give free HFOD passes to every vehicle like this 1934 Ford “Panther” for sale on, but seriously, anybody who’s gonna hitch together two or more engines, Freight Train- (or tractor-pull-) style, and drop them into a street rod should probably get some sort of special recognition. This one seems rather well-crafted, with plenty of attention to detail, as a look through the provided chassis photos shows. From the seller’s description:

Not a vehicle like this in the world…this spectacular award-winning 24- cylinder “Panther” boasts three Chevy 350 engines within a custom-made frame and body encased in 16 coats of Imron paint,

Although the three engines appear identical, the front and rear generate the power; the middle engine functions as part of the cooling system.

Its one-of-a-kind body is pure fiberglass, offset by a sleek aluminum hood with custom stainless steel parts throughout.

No detail has been spared on this fancy cat. Its radiator shell and grille are polished stainless steel. Its aluminum air can only be described as magnificent, featuring intricately engraved designs showcasing its namesake panther face. Refined pin-striping highlights the contour of its chassis. All welded joints have been sanded for a smooth high-quality finish.
