Italophiles: The AACA Museum wants you to share your “Amore della Strada”

Published in

Do you have a passion for, and a collection of, Italian automobiles and motorcycles? Would you like to help support the AACA Museum in Hershey, Pennsylvania? Do you understand the phrase “Amore della Strada” without consulting an Italian-English dictionary or Google Translate? If you answered yes to these questions, the AACA Museum is requesting your assistance in putting together an upcoming exhibit that focuses on the Italian “Love of the Road.”

At this writing, the museum is looking for a wide range of vehicles to display in the Amore della Strada exhibit, which is scheduled to run from November 19, 2016 through April 22, 2017. In most cases, only a manufacturer is referenced, meaning the museum would love to speak with marque owners to learn what vehicles they own and would be willing to display. If you own an Autobianchi, Alfa Romeo, Cisitalia, Bizzarrini, Isotta Fraschini, OSCA, Siata, Intermeccanica, MV Augusta, Ducati or Moto Guzzi, the AACA Museum would love to hear from you.

In some cases, the museum is seeking a specific make and model. Do you own a Lancia Stratos or Scorpion; a Fiat 850, 124 coupe, 124 spider, or X1/9; a Vespa 400; an Iso Grifo or Rivolta; or a De Tomaso Pantera, Mangusta or Longchamps? If so, the museum is seeking these models as well.

Custom coachwork from carrozzerias Ghia, Touring, Giugiaro/Italdesign, Bertone, Fantuzzi, Zagato and others is also being sought, as are automobiles from high-end Italian brands like Ferrari, Lamborghini and Maserati. If you have any of the above vehicles and would like to share your own love of the road with visitors, contact the museum via phone at (717) 566-7100, extension 102, or via email at
