Kilgore, Texas, 1960

Published in blog.hemmings.com

One final photo from the Bill Schlaudt collection, shared with us by Bill’s son Louis. Like the Chicago photos, this one dates to 1960, but it shows a much different scene in Kilgore, one full of oil derricks and populated by more trucks. As for where exactly the photo was taken, there sure ain’t a shortage of derricks in downtown Kilgore, but we believe Bill stood on North Commerce Street when he took the photo. What do you see here?
