Like plenty of Crosleys that come up for sale these days, this 1951 Crosley Super Sports roadster for sale on Hemmings.com needs work. Unlike most of them, however, this one is no mere basket case, rather a complete, low mileage, largely original, roadworthy, and apparently rust free example that just needs some repairs here and there. From the seller’s description:
Family owned since 1953, this fun car needs a good home to provide TLC and enjoyment to a new owner. Garaged all but a couple years, the body and frame are in good condition, all original, although repainted years ago. The original engine runs fine and the car drives well. Wiring harness replaced and brake system reworked in early 90’s. Odometer cable broken at 17,000 but actual milage about 20,000. Canvas top is a remake and needs replaced. Original 5 wheel covers, hood “eagle”, nose emblem, bumpers with bumperettes and front air scoop bar, canvas top frame, screw jack/lug wrench, and owners manual included. Fiberglass fuel tank installed 2014. Cosmetically it needs work as paint is marked, some bondo work cracked, some guages and tail lights do not work, chrome has corrosion, etc. A collection of used parts is included: water pump, carb, radiator, fuel pump, one original wiper arm, original side curtain, auxiliary heater, inst. cluster, etc. A “V-8″ radio was installed for the original owner. It is complete but is not working. Many Crosley Quarterlies, service and parts manuals are included. With some TLC you will have a real conversation piece to drive about.
