Rust-free 1983 Porsche 911SC Cabriolet for sale on Hemmings.com. From the seller’s description:
Selling our 1983 Porsche 911 SC Cabriolet, 121025 miles.
The dealer of origin was in Denver Colorado. The first detailed information dates back to November 1992. According to CarFax the mileage of 44,596 is not the actual mileage when the title was issue in Colorado. It appears a branded title may have been issued. It may have been that the actual mileage of the vehicle was unknown. The odometer readings have been consistent since then. And it no longer carries a Branded title. In April of 2013, when we brought it out of winter storage, the odometer was not working at 116,000 miles and we had it rebuilt. It is currently working.
The car was registered in Rapid City South Dakota in 1996 @ 80,309 miles. And then sold in Spearfish South Dakota in July of 2004 @ 86,517 miles. In 2005 it underwent a complete paint job to the original color, Quartz Gray Metallic. It is our understanding that it had been caught in a sandstorm and needed to be repainted. At that time, it was stripped to the metal and there was no rust found, and currently there is no rust.
The car was then sold in California in 2006 at 97,483 miles. The car had a tail which was not original and was taken off by the California owner and the area where the wing was, was refinished.
We purchased the car in 2011 with 110,533 miles on it. Current mileage is 121,025 miles. We replaced the convertible top in 2011. As with all of the owners, we have been diligent on the maintenance, and as with all of the owners, have kept it garaged. We have service records dating back to 04. Last November we had all of the seals in the motor replaced and the clutch was replaced. There are no rips or tears in the vinyl or leather. Some carpet wear. The seats could be re-upholstered as indicated by the pictures. The seats are in very good condition and are covered with leather seat covers. All gauges are working. Air conditioner has been reconfigured to meet California standards and should be recharged every 2 years. . We have installed a Classic Porsche Navigation radio system. It has been completely detailed and any rock chips or dents have been removed.
This car is a beauty. Porsche only built 5,337 Cabriolets in 1983. The current Porsche Buyer’s Guide list the value between $19,000 and $44,000. Please feel free to contact us if you would like any additional information.
