The Mercedes 560SL was available from 1986-’89 and, like the corresponding W126 sedan, is considered a high point for the three-pointed star. Just 5,139 were produced in 1989, the final year of the R107 SL roadsters. This one is an excellent example that appears to be in original condition, including the factory-installed 5.6-liter OHC V-8 and four-speed automatic that still shifts with the greatest of ease. Steering and suspension are excellent, and no issues are reported with the brakes.
The white paint is also believed to be original with no blemishes, and no rust issues are present this Georgia car. All glass, seals, and the convertible top are intact with no leaking, keeping the tan interior with burl-wood accented dashboard pristine. Seating has minimal wear with no cracks or tears, including the optional rear seats, while the carpeting has no stains and usual wear. The optional removable hardtop also comes with this car. If you’re looking for a well-preserved example of one of the finest roadsters ever built by Mercedes-Benz, this is an excellent opportunity. Bidding is scheduled to end today at 3 p.m. eastern time.
