Offered here is a late 1931 (indented firewall), Model A hot rod pickup truck. This all-steel Model A incorporates a correct wide truck bed and correct rear steel fenders plus the factory steel top. A 1932 radiator shell, 1932 headlights, plus Kelsey Hayes 16″ wire wheels really set the truck off nicely. The truck sports dual cowl lights, a pair of glass wind wings and a driver’s-side fender-mount spare tire.
Power is supplied by a 1932 Model B cast iron engine by Internationally known vintage race engine builder Jay Steel, the late owner of Taylor Engines in Whittier, California.
A 1937 Miller overhead valve head with two Stromberg 81 carburetors are installed. Miller manifolds and Miller side plates complete the dressed-up engine. The engine is matched to a 1939 Ford 3-speed manual transmission with a Borg Warner overdrive plus a 378 axle ratio. The front axle has a 4″ drop. Steering is accomplished with a Ford F150 steering box. The truck stops with hydraulic brakes on all fours. A custom wood bed cover was fabricated and is covered with black vinyl. LED brake and tail-lights are built into the rear of the unit.
