Hemmings Find of the Day – 1973 Citroen GS sedan

Published in

German market 1973 Citroen GS sedan for sale. From the seller’s description:

Citroen GS with 44,000 miles (71,000 kilometers), 4-speed manual. Very well-preserved German market car – very rare in the U.S. Mechanically very sound, mostly original paint, and very original, intact interior. Well maintained by previous and current owners, this GS performs as it should and everything works. Comprehensive folder of receipts goes back decades. Recent complete tune up and replacement of front spheres and exhaust system by SF Bay Area Citroen specialist. Very smooth and fun to drive – the car easily keeps up with modern traffic in town and on highways. The exterior is very nice, with small dings here and there, and two small spots of bubbling at the door edges. Otherwise entirely rust free body and undercarriage. The interior is very original, with magnified drum speedometer – all gauges function. Red cloth interior has worn well, with small spots of wear and sun damage on the top of back seats. Matching door cards in great shape. Dash is perfect and free of cracks. Air-cooled flat four and four speed manual trans very strong, quiet, and work as they should. Manual steering is light, precise, and very fun at speed.
