Hemmings Find of the Day – 1950 Ford F1 Marmon-Herrington Ranger

Published in

Unrestored 1950 Ford F1 Marmon-Herrington Ranger for sale on From the seller’s description:

The body of the M-H Ranger offered here is presently in grey primer and in very good, original. unrestored condition, straight, great form, and virtually no rust with just a few areas needing attention. Except for the easliy replaced short front drive shaft, all of the Marmon-Herrington drive is there. The frame is solid with only surface rust. The body, fenders, hood, doors, etc. are in solid shape with only a few spots needing minor metal work. The metal floors in front are also in solid condition with only two small areas needing simple repairing or partial replacing. Replacement panels are readily available for this. The rear wood floor is in good condition. This Ford Ranger is very complete and missing just a few parts such as the side and door glass (readily available), exterior rear view mirrors (readily available), the short front drive shaft (easlily made by shops that do this), etc. The Marmon-Herrington components are virtually indestructible and, as the basis for M-H Rangers were Ford’s F1 panel trucks, most needed parts are easily found and interchangeable with standard Ford F1 pickup trucks. Also included are two Ford bench seats in order to fabricate the Ranger bench seats. A few other parts not seen in photos are also included. This Ranger comes with its correct 100HP/239 cubic inch flathead V8 and 4 speed floor-shift manual transmission. I’ve not tried to start the engine so am unaware of the condition of the drivetrain. This M-H Ranger is in good original condition and ready for restoration as it’s been kept under roof for many years.

This Ford M-H Ranger is being sold with a clear and clean California title in my name where is and as is with no warranty expressed or implied. The VIN on the chassis (top right front frame) matches the original VIN plate on the body firewall, both of which match the title. It has current California registration and license plates.
