Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is understandably proud of its heritage, and we’d be hard-pressed to name another manufacturer with as much focus on its classic car customers. In addition to offering “Reborn” classic vehicles and reproduction parts, JLR Classic also offers a range of vintage vehicle driving experiences, including winter driving and off-road programs in Britain and the United States. The brand’s newest program offering is based at Eastnor Castle in Britain’s Malvern Hills, where drivers can sample a range of JLR products built from the 1950s to today, both off-road and on, in a single day.

The Classic Drive Experience at Eastnor takes place on the same 5,000-acre estate that Land Rover uses (and historically, has used) to develop its off-road vehicles. The terrain includes everything from slick, grass-covered hills to thick and clinging mud, challenging both drivers and development engineers alike.
The day begins driving Land Rovers, starting with the Series I – produced from 1948-’58 – giving participants a sense for where it all began. Next comes time behind the wheel of a Series III – built from 1971-’85 – that sold more than 500,000 units worldwide and helped establish the brand’s go-anywhere reputation. Finally, a Range Rover Classic, the first Land Rover to blend comfort with capability, is used to navigate some of Eastnor’s more challenging terrain.
In the Jaguar segment, participants will get time (on-road, of course) behind the wheel of an XK150, a Series 1 E-type, a Series 3 E-type, and, finally, a Mk2 saloon, which, like its Mk I predecessor, carried the brand’s “grace, pace and space” reputation from sports cars to sedans.
Of the newly offered Eastnor program, Jaguar Land Rover Classic director Tim Hannig said,
Jaguar and Land Rover have created some of the most beautiful and iconic British cars ever. While their DNA lives on in our modern line-up, we want people to experience where the story developed. Equally, the Eastnor estate has played a huge part in shaping our business, so to be able to bring a selection of our legends together in such a significant location is a real privilege. It’ll be a trip back in time and an experience that only Jaguar Land Rover’s incredible heritage can offer.

The Classic Driving Experience at Eastnor is priced at £495 ($655, based upon current exchange rates) per driver, which includes the aforementioned seat time in vintage JLR vehicles, refreshments, and lunch. Passenger ride-alongs are permitted for an additional fee, at the discretion of JLR Experience staff.
