Hemmings Find of the Day – 1919 Nash Quad

Published in

Restored Buda-engined 1919 Nash Quad for sale on From the seller’s description:

This truck, like all Nash-Quads is four wheel drive and has four wheel brakes. Some models even had four-wheel steering, although this one is the two-wheel steer version. It has a 312 CID Buda, hand-crank four cylinder gas engine with magneto ignition. It’s rated at 28 HP. According to the warranty plate, the truck has a top speed of 14 MPH.

A few civilian versions of the Nash-Quad were built after WWI. I found this truck in Washington State in 1986 and I spent two years on the restoration. Every nut and bolt on this truck has been rebuilt or restored. The truck starts, runs and drives good. It’s a good parade rig or would show perfectly in a museum.

The new owner will get a roster of all the current Nash-Quad owners, a copy of the 200 page shop manual (very handy!) and photos of the restoration.

The truck is 17 1/2′ long, 80″ wide, 103″ tall and it weighs about 6,200 lbs. It has a 124″ wheelbase.
