Original unrestored 1980 AMC Concord DL for sale on Hemmings.com. From the seller’s description:
258 ci “6” Automatic transmission, power steering, power front disc brakes, COLD A/C, tilt wheel, reclining split bench seat, factory am/fm, digital clock. As AMC made it and it all works.
A TIME CAPSULE. Thats the way I describe my Concord DL. As far as I can tell she is mostly original. The paint and interior appear to be original. The paint shines great, there have been a few touch ups but you need to look to find them. Under the hood only the hoses, belts, battery and muffler/tailpipe have been changed. Even all the original emissions equipment is still in place. The tires look new.
She has a crushed velour burgundy interior in a muted stripe pattern, it’s in great shape. The front is a very comfortable split bench and the seats recline the way AMC has been doing it for years. The A/C is incredibly cold thanks to the freon used back in the day. The digital clock proudly displays it is quartz, her tilt steering wheel was an option not normally found in cars of this class back then. The only serious flaw in the entire car is the headliner, it sags.
She starts, runs and drives easily and quietly. She’s a wonderful car to drive. I have cruised on the interstate and have no trouble setting the pace in the left lane. And she gets pretty good gas mileage too.
My AMC Concorde DL is registered and titled in my name. I drive her regularly to local cruise nights and car events. People love her and are amazed at her condition. She started life in Arkansas where there is no snow, so she was spared road salt. In her later years she has been lovingly cared for by car people.
