Hemmings Find of the Day – 1988 Pontiac Fiero

Published in

Small-block Chevrolet V-8-swapped 1988 Pontiac Fiero for sale on From the seller’s description:

This 88 Fiero has a Chevy 350 V8 with a “V8 Archie” installation kit. I bought the car with the understanding that the engine is a Chevy 350 ZZ-4 crate motor. I still believe that to be true but I have no paperwork to that effect. For heads it has Edelbrock Performer aluminum heads. It has a 4 barrel Rochester Carb bought from National Carb last year.

Also included is a TPI (tuned port injection) system including intake, injectors, ignition, computer and sensors from a 91′ Camaro Z28 which I took off this car, I prefer the carb. I also have a complete extra set of exhaust parts to go with the car. Current exhaust is complete with no leaks but it is not the best design.

Body is in excellent shape with exception of ding in fender in front of driver’s door and driver’s door. See pictures. There is no rust. Custom made air scoops are completely functional and feed air to the oil cooler and engine compartment. Runs good, 4 speed manual trans, 157K miles, Interior is clean, floor mats worn. Tires are P295/50 R 15 on the rear and P225/50 R 15 on the front.

It has no AC, tach does not work, engine leaks oil at front of engine, trunk lock assembly missing. Battery seems to go dead if not used for a couple weeks. The windshield has a large scratch from passenger side wiper blade, see pic.
