Hemmings Find of the Day – 1956 International Metro

Published in

Restored 1956 International Metro delivery van. From the seller’s description:

Original California van that was 99 percent rust free at start of restoration in 2012 and completed in 2016. Rare automatic transmission. Van was found sitting in a warehouse for 35 years in Santa Ana California where I purchased it from the original owners family. I restored the van to original with the exception of the led tail and turn signal lights. This upgrade was necessary for todays driving requirements. Drive train is the factory original and has been completely gone through including the poss- traction rear end. Original 17.5 steel wheels have been powder coated. Entire brake system is new. Everything on this van has been redone as you can see by the photos, so I won’t go into a long list of items and work done. These short vans are rare and desirable, seldom do you see one for sale that is so nicely done. Colors are Wimbledon White over Kona Brown. Dupont triple stage paint. Great driver with no issues. California title with up to date registration.
