From the seller’s description:
This 1954 Kaiser Darrin is number 399 out of 435, frame up restoration completed in 2015. Matching serial numbers on original engine, frame and body. There have only been three owners and it has a nearly complete provenance. Car was sold new in California and repair records are provided from 1969. For the last 25 years, this Darrin has been cared for and tended by a stalwart member of the Kaiser-Frazer and Darrin owner’s clubs. Miles are original at 115,000.
The 2015 restoration included complete gel coat and paint in official Kaiser Darrin color, all new interior surfaces with NOS (new/old stock) or carefully remanufactured replicas of vinyl fabric, carpets and soft top. Every chrome surface is NOS, re-chromed or brilliant original. Most notable and rare is the complete set of NOS wire wheel covers with NOS center emblems and 1986 Reprint NOS owner’s manual. Restoration also included a complete rebuild, repaint and reinstallation of original engine as well as five newly manufactured and period correct tires.
Vehicle is currently shown sparingly but this Darrin is nearly ready for a national audience, minor details need completion. The rarity of this automobile, the timeless nature of its styling and the story of the post WWII automaker who built and brought it to market for only one model year, makes it a highly desirable and collectable automobile. This particular Darrin also has its own remarkable story that links it to the space race of the 1960’s. It is likely to be the crowning, centerpiece auto for any automobile aficionado.
In addition to vehicle and all its records, seller will also provide any buyer an introduction to key members of the Darrin owner’s club if needed.
