Many thanks to the folks who, knowing of my penchant for Seventies Jeep and AMC products, tipped me to this 1972 AMC Matador two-door hardtop for sale on Hemmings.com. However, those same people also know that my garage is full of said Seventies Jeep and AMC products, so perhaps the people who tipped me to this car secretly lust after it themselves? And why wouldn’t they, given that it’s super clean, it’s got that fun and funky interior, and it couldn’t come in a less attention-commanding color. From the seller’s description:
The rust-free body has had one very high quality repaint in original Canary Yellow. The car is very well equipped with 304-CID V-8, Torque Command three-speed automatic transmission, power steering and power brakes, and much more. The tinted glass all windows are in excellent condition. The vinyl roof, although original, looks new. The interior, also original, is in excellent condition, with no stains, tears, or fading. The engine, and engine compartment are very well detailed. This forty four year old classic looks, runs, and drives like the day it rolled out of the assembly plant in Kenosha Wisconsin.
