Engineer, builder, driver: Jack Brabham excelled at all three

Published in blog.hemmings.com

Of all the people involved in motorsport over the last century plus, Jack Brabham may have best encapsulated the sport. He could compete in the highest echelons of racing as a driver, no doubt about that, and he also displayed a mechanical aptitude that led to building winning cars – as was apparent in 1966 when he became the first person to win a Grand Prix championship in a cat that he designed and built. But as we see in this documentary of Brabham that uses his own words and racing footage of his victories to tell his story, Brabham also excelled as a businessman and even as a mentor to younger racer, among them Bruce McLaren.
