Hemmings Find of the Day – 1941 Lincoln Zephyr

Published in blog.hemmings.com

Cadillac-powered 1941 Lincoln Zephyr business coupe for sale on Hemmings.com. From the seller’s description:

There were 1341 Three Window Business Coupes manufactured in 1941 and only 77 were ordered as a Custom from the factory. The custom coupe option included leather interior, wood grained dashboard and gold interior hardware. Today, there may be less than six Custom 3 Window Coupes left in existence. A build sheet from the factory comes with this car documenting that it was ordered from the factory as a “Custom.” Do not compare this car with a regular 1941 Lincoln Zephyr 3 Window Coupe as it is very special and very rare.

The ’41 Lincoln Zephyrs are the nicest riding 3 Window Business Coupes from the 1937-1941 era and they are increasing in value rapidly. This car features a brand new Ox blood leather interior, new steering wheel and horn button, wood grained dash and all the interior hardware are gold plated. (Not installed in pictures)

The drive train features a V-8 Cadillac engine that runs strong and fast with dual exhaust, Lincoln transmission and a new gas tank. Brand new wide white wall radial tires mounted on the correct 16” rims, beautiful SS trim and chrome. The car also comes with a set of Lincoln Custom rear tail lights not shown in pictures.

There are many NOS parts are on this car. They include; Front fenders, rear fenders, fender skirts, transmission cover, trunk handle, center grill strip, one grill.

The entire car was dustless media blasted. Epoxy painted, primered in a fillable primer, then painted in a Hot Rod satin black color and is waiting for your custom exterior color choice or you can drive it as is. (The car was originally ordered in Black, my plan was to paint it Eagle Poly Gray which was Henry Ford’s favorite color. A picture of this color is included with the attached photos on a 1940 Lincoln Continental.

Two items that were customized on this car were the front fenders are made to look like a 1940 Zephyr and a set of push button doors were installed. The car needs some finishing touches. The carpeting that is shown in the pictures is a temporary carpet. I have a roll of high quality wool carpeting that matches the lower door panels and will need to be installed. There is extra oxblood leather that comes with the car. The interior needs to be finished including a headliner and the trunk carpeting. Waiting for the front bumper ends and bumper guards to arrive.
